My question is regarding run out at the non striker end. Can the batsman be given out under the following circumstances

Bowler receives the throw from the fielder and in an attempt to run out the batsman his elbow touches the wicket with the ball in his hands. Kindly let me know if the batsman is out. Please clarify whether a run out can be effected if the elbow touches the wicket with the ball in hand or is it compulsory to hit the wickets with the ball in palms of the hand, batsman is out of his crease

yea , in that condition the non striker will be out , provided the ball is still in the hand while the completion of that stumps dislodging movement .
