Why is Heroes a hit?

When I first saw the commercials for Heroes: the superpower fulled, not your normal super hero, darker than average character driven type of show, I wasn't sure how well it would do.

I'm wondering if the Heroes craze will last long or if it is just a flash-gordon in the pan?

ya they have super powers and super powers are hit thsese days even look a the spider man series
